Biofeedback training uses physiological monitoring technology to increase awareness, control and enhancement of brain performance and internal body activity as: blood pressure, muscle tension, heart rate, perspiration and body temperature.
Neurofeedback training (also known as EEG Biofeedback) focuses on self regulating and enhancing brain function and cognitive performance.
The Training
Sensors are placed on the surface of the skin associated with the physical region which will be trained. The sensors are connected to physiological monitoring devices which display the biological information in real time via visual waves, graphs, auditory signals and images. With the assistance of a biofeedback professional the individual engages in conscious training to increase awareness and voluntary control of internal physiological activity, such as: brain performance, muscle tension and blood pressure.
The purpose is to reach the point where voluntary control of specific internal body activity is learned, and can then be performed anywhere, anytime.
